ICF | About the ICF

A community foundation is a local, public charity established to provide an easy way for people to give assets or leave assets to their community or to specific entities, such as public libraries, community centers, parks, etc.

A community foundation provides a means for individuals or organizations to create their own funds under the community foundation "umbrella" without having to get their own tax-free, 501(c)(3) designation. It also relieves those creating funds - for a church, for example - of certain responsibilities and liabilities.

A community foundation is a vehicle for creating a permanent community endowment.

Our Imperial Community Foundation, through our affiliation with the Nebraska Community Foundation, provides professional management of our funds.

We can provide donors with maximum flexibility and tax advantages.

ICF | Established in 1999

The Imperial Community Foundation was established as an affiliate of the Nebraska Community Foundation in 1999 as a means for tax deductible giving.

The foundation started 2006 with $237,000 in assets. Close to $14,000 in donor designated funds were distributed in the fiscal year ending in June, 2005. Funds are in place for specific projects as well as $147,000 in five designated permanent endowments.

The Imperial Community Foundation advisory board has a 10-year goal of $1,000,000.
